Notice how each project enhances the existing home. Additions look like they were always there. This is because Celeste carefully matches the design of an addition to the particular style so that it adds rather than competes with the existing home. Being sensitive to the unique characteristics of each historic style, Celeste can design a home in whatever style it needs to be.
The Savoys wanted to enjoy their expansive rear yard. This addition adds sunrooms, an outdoor terrace, and a carriage house rich in detail that keep with the Georgian style of the home.

The Wilkes purchased a Cape home on the Merrimack River. However, they wanted to live in a Victorian house and add a large library and master bedroom wing on the side. This was accomplished by removing the entire roof and orienting a prominent gable roof to the front. The first-floor windows and walls remained. The result is a showpiece of architectural massing and detailing that can be appreciated from both the street and the river.

The owner (who played football for Penn State, my alma mater) and his wife wanted a large kitchen to entertain friends and family while enjoying the lake and watching football. The addition blends seamlessly with the existing house while taking advantage of spectacular views of the water.
|
The owners or rebars & mesh, inc. wanted to welcome back their employees post-pandemic to a refreshed office space. Their previous melon and beige color scheme did not enhance their brand. The new color palette matches their logo, with warm grays and red accents. It creates a corporate image to their main office that is warm, bold, and refreshing.

The Kennedy's needed to double the size of their existing cape to meet the needs of their growing family. The new house blends seamlessly into the neighborhood, maintaining the character of the original house.
|
The Whitneys wanted to expand their cramped kitchen/living area into a large family room over their existing garage so that they could host large family gatherings.
The Champsis wanted to add a garage adjacent to their home in the Local Historic District that looked like it was always there. The details on the existing house were replicated so that the garage perfectly complements the historic home.

This is my kitchen! The existing kitchen had a wall the split the room in two. With the wall gone, we now have a view of our outside garden and lots of natural light. The kitchen has been transformed from a problematic workspace to one that functions very well, particularly during clean-up. The feel is modern but yet the kitchen fits into our Italianate house with a fresh use of period moldings and colors. The framed television, the pull-out racks, the built-in towel storage, and the pop-out outlet on the island add appeal.

The Bischoffs added a family room with an open kitchen, a sun porch, and master bedroom wing to their conventional Cape. The addition maintains a conservative front facade but explodes in the back, opening the house to the woods.
|
The Kanes wanted to expand their master bedroom suite into an adjacent attic space and add a three-car garage. The rear gambrel structure was renovated to create an open bedroom and spa that overlooks the rear landscape. The garage addition forms an entry courtyard that functions as a hub of family activity.
|
Instead of replacing the kitchen in its original location, the Logans added a kitchen, mud room, and half bath to the side of their house open to a family room inside. A breakfast nook was created to balance the front facade, reflecting the arch of the existing porch to the right.

The Meads added a family room and raised the roof over their master bedroom to provide more living space to their Cape. The quaint character of the house was enhanced by the addition, making this home an architectural gem.
|
In order to accommodate their mother-in-law, the St. Onge family added a modifiable great room, bedroom and bath. A welcoming porch was added to the front. Expansive windows stay low to the floor, allowing views of their sloping backyard that can be seen while at rest.
|
The Hynicks wanted their dream kitchen added to their transitional home. With significant attention to detail, we designed a kitchen which showcases high-end finishes and appliances at no expense to functionality and efficiency.

The Paszkos have a growing family, three cars, and a love of gardening. They needed more room and a garage, but also wanted to appreciate their vegetable garden from inside. A family room over a garage was added that captured views of the garden and heavily wooded rear yard. The massing was carefully chosen to minimize the scale of the two-story addition over a three-car garage, drawing from an image of an attached barn.
