EXAMPLES OF OUR WORK

Notice how each project enhances the existing home. Additions look like they were always there. This is because Celeste carefully matches the design of an addition to the particular style so that it adds rather than competes with the existing home. Being sensitive to the unique characteristics of each historic style, Celeste can design a home in whatever style it needs to be.

Victorian Makeover With Renovated Second Floor

The Wilkes purchased a Cape home on the Merrimack River. However, they wanted to live in a Victorian house and add a large library and master bedroom wing on the side. This was accomplished by removing the entire roof and orienting a prominent gable roof to the front. The first-floor windows and walls remained. The result is a showpiece of architectural massing and detailing that can be appreciated from both the street and the river.

New Contemporary Home on an Existing Foundation

This contemporary house, still under construction, fits on a foundation from a one-story house that was demolished. Dynamic slope roofed areas top flat roofed building blocks, setback to allow for decks on three sides.

A Kitchen Addition to a Contemporary Lake House

The owner (who played football for Penn State, my alma mater) and his wife wanted a large kitchen to entertain friends and family while enjoying the lake and watching football. The addition blends seamlessly with the existing house while taking advantage of spectacular views of the water.

A Post-Pandemic Office and Employee Area Refresh

The owners or rebars & mesh, inc. wanted to welcome back their employees post-pandemic to a refreshed office space. Their previous melon and beige color scheme did not enhance their brand. The new color palette matches their logo, with warm grays and red accents.

Work continued in the employee area. Brown and beige walls were likewise replaced with a similar color palette. The Reception, Dining, Locker, Office, and Rest Room Areas were renovated into inviting spaces with easy-to-clean surfaces and better traffic flow.

Both projects create a corporate image to their headquarters that is warm, bold, and refreshing.

Modern Kitchen in an Italianate

This is my kitchen! The existing kitchen had a wall the split the room in two. With the wall gone, we now have a view of our outside garden and lots of natural light. The kitchen has been transformed from a problematic workspace to one that functions very well, particularly during clean-up. The feel is modern but yet the kitchen fits into our Italianate house with a fresh use of period moldings and colors. The framed television, the pull-out racks, the built-in towel storage, and the pop-out outlet on the island add appeal.

Modern Addition to a Traditional Cape

The Bischoffs added a family room with an open kitchen, a sun porch, and master bedroom wing to their conventional Cape. The addition maintains a conservative front facade but explodes in the back, opening the house to the woods.

Master Bedroom Suite and Garage Addition

The Kanes wanted to expand their master bedroom suite into an adjacent attic space and add a three-car garage. The rear gambrel structure was renovated to create an open bedroom and spa that overlooks the rear landscape. The garage addition forms an entry courtyard that functions as a hub of family activity.

Kitchen Addition to a Classic Colonial

Instead of replacing the kitchen in its original location, the Logans added a kitchen, mud room, and half bath to the side of their house open to a family room inside. A breakfast nook was created to balance the front facade, reflecting the arch of the existing porch to the right.

Three-Car Garage and Family Room to a New Cape

The Paszkos have a growing family, three cars, and a love of gardening. They needed more room and a garage, but also wanted to appreciate their vegetable garden from inside. A family room over a garage was added that captured views of the garden and heavily wooded rear yard. The massing was carefully chosen to minimize the scale of the two-story addition over a three-car garage, drawing from an image of an attached barn.
